Carol J Weissman Kurth, FAIA, ASID, LEED AP
Principal, Carol Kurth Architecture, pc + Carol Kurth Interiors, ltd
I first met Farah when she was an undergraduate student at The City College of New York (CCNY) Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture.
I quickly recognized in Farah an enormous strength and capacity to go far beyond the classroom and studio experiences of the rigorous architecture curriculum. Her strengths include: leadership skills, commitment to public service and the ability to ignite enthusiasm among her peers and others.
Farah’s long-standing interest for clean energy, amplified by her experience with the Solar Decathlon, has led her decade-long pursuit of blazing a trail in the education, standards, policy and implementation of green energy on a macro and micro level. Farah's work will encourage other Architects to pursue and contribute to the advancement of this sector, all while giving Farah an expanded platform to continue progressing her work forward in government.

But what truly impresses me is how skilled she is at dissecting some of the most complex concepts and regulations in this evolving business sector and crafting them into readable, compelling storytelling. Her talents and dedication are a credit to green building initiatives and industry media, alike.

Farah is a skilled and insightful communicator which makes her an incredibly powerful speaker. As an advocate for a more ecologically sound built environment, her knowledge is unparalleled, and her ability to clearly convey both the steps we can collectively take toward securing our future and the need to do so is truly a gift. I was lucky enough to meet Farah when she participated in a roundtable discussion that I moderated which explored the role of women in the A+D industry. Her takes on the discussion topics were by turns whip-smart and refreshingly honest and candid. She was fully prepared yet completely comfortable speaking off-the-cuff and participating in the natural back and forth of the conversation. I could not recommend Farah more as a speaker, an advocate, and as a human.
